To My Awaiting Angel

To My Awaiting Angel

Your papa and I are waiting
Counting down the unknown number of months
Well let's face it, maybe years
Until our tiny angel comes to our home
We've thought of names to suit you
Excited to see your smile, the one like your papa's
And lay you on my chest
Have your hand wrap around my finger
Your papa is excited
Oh I can tell
We think of all the fun we'll have
You can tell we've had a while to think
I know he'll be a good papa
He's kind and sensitive for times when you want to talk
He's lots of fun and really tall
What a great listener too
Don't you ever worry about being lonely; he cuddles
We'll both love you oh so much
Your papa is good like that
He's good looking too
Oh by the way if you see your papa around
Let him know I'm in France
Waiting for him to find ME
So we can start this family!!

Looking For A British Boy

Thursday I had my French class and I was a bit confused so thankfully Enrique was able to explain it to me. I really enjoy my class and thankfully and I learning. Granted I understand it better than I can speak it but regardless I am learning. It can be frustrating though when people just know you're American and automatically speak English to you. Anyways, after work I went to hang out with Juliana. We had some pizza and then waited for Enrique to get home to go out with us. Those two just crack me up. It started off to be a pretty boring outing but I ended up having a lot of fun with Enrique so that was good. We didn't get home until 8 am... Long night!

Obviously Friday we all slept in. We had some breakfast at 12:30 when we woke up and then I headed home to take a shower and get ready for the day. I did the grocery shopping for the lady down the road and then I babysat her daughter that night. Since I was recovering from the night before I just went to bed early and that was wonderful.

Saturday I think I just hung out at home and kind of locked myself in my room. I love my girls and the family is extremely generous but when it comes down to it, I need my weekends away. Alisha and I did some shopping and I bought snow pants so I can go skiing and snowboarding with Enrique and his family when they go. Eventually I'll be skiing the Alps!! After shopping Alisha had to babysit so I went over the Enrique's and we watched movies and I came home later that night.

Sunday was wonderful. I just love church, always fulfilling. After church I took my Sunday afternoon nap of course. I made sure everything was set at home and Alisha and I went back to the church for the broadcast of the Christmas Devotional. It was nice to have Alisha there. There were some pretty cute missionaries there! I hate that!! They are SO off limits!

Monday was class and then lunch with my girls. I love how Enrique and Juliana and I have gotten into a weekly routine. It is just expected that on Monday nights I'll be going over there since I don't wake up early on Tuesdays. Alisha and I did some grocery shopping and then made cookies. Oh my gosh, Europe does not have chocolate chips!!! So I had to use crispy M&M's. So when I went to hang out with Enrique I brought them cookies. We were watching a movie and of course I kept laughing because I just laugh all the time and his dad kept making fun of me. I had a good little chat with his dad about his work and what not. We ended up watching The Family Stone and it made me so homesick. I'm going to be missing my whole family in Colorado with two of my sister-in-laws being pregnant together. My nephew who I was born is turning one on Friday and then my other nephew turns one shortly after that. I just feel that I'm missing a lot while I'm over here. Of course I'm having a great time here and Christmas in Paris with Alisha, Juliana and Enrique will be amazing but I miss my family :(. Anyways, I tried oysters for the first time and I'm not a huge fan. Enrique was more than happy to finish for me so I guess it wasn't a big deal. I ended up having a really bad headache so I was happy to get home and take a hot shower and go to bed.

Today I slept in and did not want to get out of bed. I took a quick shower and picked up the girls and two friends for lunch. Sophie came home to eat with us and then took them to English. Alisha and I went swimming in hopes of finding the hot swim teachers but no luck. I picked up Aurore and Phillipe. It is so cute because Aurore calls me Hannah Mae now. She'll ask for something and I'll say, "Magic word?" and she'll respond, "Please Hannah MAE!" Then I just can't refuse haha. She stood on the chair next to me while I did the dishes til the girls and Sophie came home. Dimitri is in the States on business. At six I took Ariadne to track and went to babysit for this other family from England. Oh my goodness! All the attractive men here are dads!! This guy is incredibly good looking and I need to ask if he has brothers because he is really tall too!! I've decided I need to go to England to find my husband! They have two boys, Jay is 11 and Marcus is 7 and we had sooo much fun together. They were really nice to me and each other. We were playing the wii and they kept saying how well I was doing and it was just so fun. So it's official, I'm marrying an extremely attractive English man and we're having really cute boys like that!!! It was a good break for me. I came home and helped Sophie clean up and make some bread for all the Christmas parties going on this week and we moved some furniture and finished decorating the tree and now my neck hurts from sitting here for so long typing. I need a chiropractor!!!! Anyways, it is past my bedtime and I'm exhausted. Bonsoir!

You Know You're A Nanny When...

1. Your bed gets peed in by someone other than yourself.
2. You make sure everyone has their coats but forget your own.
3. You get to give the children back at the end of the day.
4. The kids fight with you like their sister.
5. You're not allowed to beat the children like you'd like to ;D.
6. You don't own half of the things in your room.
7. When they cry for mommy, you're tempted to do the same.
8. EVERYthing gets left in your room, including dirty socks that are three times too small.
9. You can't raise the kids like you'd like to.
10. You thought you no longer had to get approval to go somewhere but when you're walking out the door you have all three girls asking where you're going, with whom and when you'll be back.

Vent Me

Just FYI this is going to be a venting blog and probably very whiny but I'm ok with that. If you're not in the mood for whining stop reading now =D. Last night I was extremely tired at about 9 pm and I hadn't woken up that morning until about 10, granted I was hanging out with Enrique til 2:45 am and then came home and took a shower before bed. But usually I'm not that tired, it could have been from swimming too but either way it was odd. I'm pretty sure I'm getting sick or am already sick. I went to bed at 10 and slept pretty well throughout the night. So maybe since I'm sick my tolerance for anything has left. But the girls just won't listen to me today since their mom is home and I don't feel like I'm being respected today by anyone. I'm sure most of it is in my head but it's so frustrating and I want to curl up in bed and cried. Which I did already. I canNOT stand the whining, SCREAMING, and just the crap they give me!!!! I also found out that I don't get paid any extra for this past weekend. I guess that's ok because I don't think I'll have to pay for the scratch in the car. I see different patterns in the kids behavior that I want to change and then I realize their parents allow it and it discourages me! I hate how they all scream at each other! I mean the kids more than anything but I'm the type of person that does not do well with contention. I do everything I can to avoid it, including letting people get away with crap they shouldn't because I don't want to bring it up. So when it's contentious here I just want to go do laundry or something to avoid being around them. Don't get me wrong I like the family and it's a good situation but I'm just a little overwhelmed. I think part of it too is that it's snowing. I love watching the snow fall but I know that I probably won't be able to escape to Enrique and Juliana's for my sanity later tonight. My car doesn't have snow tires and even though I'm pretty confident that I'd do fine since I lived in Idaho, I know Sophie would not be okay with it. It's frustrating. But anyways I think that is enough. If not I'll get on again later...

Another Adopted Family

Saturday was a bit rough for me because I didn't feel good so I didn't want to do anything. But I made pancakes for breakfast but they weren't that good because Sophie wanted me to use a mix she had gotten. After that I just let the girls play and kinda snoozed in the next room over with my door open. I made some lunch and we all just rested. At five I took Ines and Aurore to the neighbor's where they were staying the night and then took Ariadne to her friends house for a sleep over. I picked up Alisha and we went to get Enrique, Juliana and Juan. When we got there their dad asked if I was going skiing with them tomorrow. I love how I'm pretty much considered family now. We met a friend of theirs at the bowling alley. I ordered a hot dog for dinner and it came in a baguette with ketchup and mayo, it was actually pretty good so of course Enrique wanted a taste so he ate half of it and we ordered another one. We had an air hockey tournament and he won but not by much. Bowling was fun so it was a really good night. Walking around Geneva is so much better when there are guys with you because then you don't get approached by creeps!!

Sunday I picked up Ariadne and then went to pick up Ines and Aurore but the neighbors said all three of them could stay for lunch and then I could pick up Aurore for her nap. So I picked her up later but she was quite upset and only slept for fifteen minutes so I took her back over there to play with them. Thankfully the neighbors adore her. So I went to Alisha's housewarming party. She now has her own studio that her host family built from their garage. I picked up my tired, hungry, cranky girls from the neighbors. Of course Aurore was throwing a fit as soon as she realized she had to leave and the lady told me she thinks they have LICE. So I took them home, threw all three of them in the bath and washed their hair with lice killing shampoo. At this point not only is Aurore crying but so is Ines. I get them clean and out, dress the baby in her pj's and head downstairs to start dinner. They all come down when they are dressed and ALL THREE of them are crying at this point!!! "I want maman and papa!" So as I'm cooking I'm dancing and singing and making faces and being a total freak just trying to cheer them up! It worked a bit thankfully. So as soon as dinner was done we put the baby in bed and I started reading to them in there. We went in her room and she feel asleep by 7:15 and I finished reading to the girls by 7:40. It was an early night but well deserved! Sophie and Dimitri came home and Sophie wasn't mad about the car, she didn't really care, but Dimitri was a bit upset but not really at me. So I'm not sure if they are going to get it fixed or not. It's not too bad but who knows. When they came home I left to pick up Enrique, Juliana and Juan to bring them back here for another little party at Alisha's new studio. It was fun to just chat and hang out for a bit. After I took them home I came home, took a shower and went to bed.

Today was class and on the way home we were talking about me going over to Enrique's later and Juliana said she wasn't going to be there til later but she says, "Oh well I know you'll be home still." Referring to her house. I told how I love that everyone just expects me to be there and I might as well live there. And since my car wasn't working part of last week I didn't go over there and apparently everyone was asking where I was. Made me feel loved! I think I have the biggest family in the world and most of my family members don't know each other =D. I have my immediate family, my extended family, the Bustoses, my host family, the Serjes (Enrique's family) and all the individuals I've collected on the way. I think I've lived with most of my friends at one point. Even if it is just a weekend. But I sure am thankful for each one of you! I wouldn't have it any other way! At least I'll be in Paris with two of my families for Christmas. Talk to you later.

Horribly Good Day

Wednesday was cold and walking into town was no fun. My car was fixed so we picked it up =D! Wednesdays are always long but I survive. I met up with my home teacher, Samuel. Let's just say I love him! He's such a great guy and perfect for me in so many ways that it kinda scares me. He's TALL, nice hands, really pretty blue eyes, funny, good Mormon boy, has five brothers and one sister (I've always wanted to marry into a family of boys =D), he's hardworking, likes to read and just pretty freaking cool. He's moving back to the states tomorrow though!!! We talked for about and hour and a half and had a good time and a very spiritual lesson as always.

Thursday was class which is fun as always. I babysat a little girl for a bit that night then came home and went to bed a bit early.

Today Sophie left to meet Dimitri in Barcelona so I spent all day with Aurore. It was so fun!! We went swimming and the whole way there she sang to me, it was so cute! She was really lovey with me today, she was hugging me and had a lot of fun at the pool together. She fell asleep on the way home but after lunch I put her down for a nap but she was up there just singing to herself so I went and got her and we hung out together. She likes to just sit on my bathroom counter while I curl my hair and put on make up. Before we had to pick up the girls we went to the grocery store and as I was parking Sophie's car I hit some pipe and scratched HER car!!!! I feel sooooo bad! I didn't want to tell her over the phone because I don't want her to worry about it over the weekend but it's killing me. I feel terrible! I'm sure it'll be fine but I still want them to let me pay for it! So Aurore and I did some shopping then picked up the girls at school. It was pouring ALL day! So the girls and I came home and I started fixing dinner and told them to start getting ready for the church Christmas party. Ines has been extremely excited to go to this so she wanted to dress up and everything. She even let me curl her hair!! We ended up leaving an hour later than planned haha but I'm not used to being a single mother of three! Samuel was supposed to come but I guess something came up so I was a bit bummed since he leaves tomorrow. But it was nice to get a text from Travis telling me I am missed. I had a dream last night that I got shot and I told the shooter that he needed to call Glen because I knew he would take care of me. (Glen is the guy I went to my senior prom whom I've stayed pretty close with over the years, real sweetheart, although most people don't get to see that side of him. But I haven't talked to him in the last few weeks because I guess he's been busy with school and stuff with his girlfriend.) It was a really random dream, but it made me kinda sad since I didn't feel like I could talk to him since he's been preoccupied and what not. But when I got back from the party I had an email from him apologizing for not talking to me lately and that he just wanted to let me know he was thinkin about me. It was really sweet and made me so much happier. I got to talk to him and it was nice. It's always nice to know you're missed and loved =D. I trust that all is well with most of you and I will miss being around for the holidays but know my love is being sent to you!! Night!

Grocery Store Casanova

Friday I stayed home and just watched this show that Enrique got me hooked on called Heroes. He has the first season on DVD so I watched that most of the day. On Saturday we had out Thanksgiving dinner so I spent the day cooking and then that evening Alisha and her family came and we all had dinner. I made my peach crumble pie and it was fabulous! Monday was class and then lunch with the girls. I was supposed to grocery shopping for this lady down the street but my car decided not to start so I had to wait until dinner time when I could take Sophie's car. So Dimitri and I took the car down to the shop and then I headed off to get groceries. As I was in the produce section I noticed a guy who was kinda cute but I'm pretty sure he had a ring on. Well later he started talking to me in French and I didn't know what he was saying so I told him I didn't speak French well so he switches to English and asks if I know where the batteries are. I told him I thought they would be at the other end of the store. So he asks if I'll go with him. But at this point I was sick of shopping and it was a weird question anyways so I told him I didn't have time. He goes, "Maybe another time." Which totally didn't fit the situation at all! Yeah maybe another time we can walk to the other side of the grocery store together haha! What did I learn from this experience? Wearing heels to the grocery store gives guys the wrong idea =D! Alisha came over and we watched some more Heroes then I went to bed. I slept in this morning and then fed the girls. I did my French homework then Ines and I did her English homework and we ate, I put the girls to bed and that's it. I'm really glad I have a car, this being without one is just not working for me... Night! Oh Happy Birthday Papa!!
