Can't think of a good Title

So I'm playing a bit of catch up today, nothing much has really been going on. It's going to be really sparactic as I remember the key events, just a warning. Tuesday I got to talk to my niece who just turned five!! I can't believe how much they grow up and how much I miss all my nieces and nephews! It was really nice to talk to my brother and sister-in-law. They find out tomorrow if they are having a boy or girl =D. Gosh I'm excited! I found out that I'm going to Paris for the first time at the end of the month with my host family which will be a blast! And then the first or second weekend a few of us from my french class are going to Amsterdam, so basically I have to be saving up as much money as possible. Yesterday was a long day with the kids, as usual, it being Wednesday and everything. It was a beautiful day though and it was nice to see the full moon last night! I really want my dang computer cord to come so I can put pictures up! I have over a hundred and fifty on my camera right now and it's not gonna be fun loading that many at once! Anyways I'm sure this has been a boring blog, I can tell because it hasn't been that fun to write haha. Later!

Numb...

Alisha and I had previously planned to go out again last night but that plan eventually became to overwhelming considering we were both still recovering from Friday night. We did decided to go to Charlie's for a bit but when we got there it was closed. It was nice to go to bed a bit early (like 1:30 a.m. instead of 6 a.m.). I woke up this morning and got ready for church. I drove to the bus station (got lost on the way and was running late already) and then took the 56 bus to one of the bus stops and got off and was going to catch the 29 to Balexert. Well apparently the 29 doesn't run on Sundays so I had no idea how to get to church! I was freezing and was running out of time on bus ticket and had no more change. Unfortunately I missed church today. It was pretty disappointing! I took a nap and then ate some lunch. It was a very relaxing day; I read for a while and then Alisha and I took a walk. It's been really foggy today so you can't see much. It was sunny up here in Thoiry but down in the valley where Geneva it is impossible to see. I look out my window and I have to sometimes remind myself that I'm living in France. It doesn't seem real to say that I live in France and go dancing in Switzerland. I've had two dreams in the last two or three nights that I'm still preparing to go to France and that I have to say goodbye again. It's been really strange. But I am thoroughly enjoying myself! I love our little village and meeting so many different people! Who knows what I'll do when the year is up. Oh and the tip of my toe is still numb! I don't know what on earth is going on with it. I guess I learned my lesson not to wear heels ever again to go dancing haha. Sophie and I made some Greek pie or something. It has spinach, green onions, feta cheese and eggs so I'm pretty excited to taste it. I think dinner is ready so I'm going to go. Hope everyone had a great Sabbath!!

Dancing Queen

HOLY COW! Enough said! Last night was the most fun I've had in a REALLY long time! The girls (Lauren and Alisha) and I left Thoiry around nine and went to Lauren's friend's house. Her name is Christine. The drive alone was an adventure! I haven't been driving a stick long but I'm doing really well, but driving in Europe is A WHOLE OTHER THING! The stop lights are on the side where a stop sign would be so you don't notice them at first. The light turns from green to yellow to red then BACK to yellow before turning green. It's so bizzare! Get ready, get set, GO! There are a lot of one way streets and you can't always tell which ones are which. So we hung out at Christine's and got ready and had some food. Christine is a really nice girl. She's from Germany and is an au pair in Geneva, but used to be one here in Thoiry and that is how Lauren met her. After a while we drove to Sip and they didn't let us in. They were letting a lot of older people in and there apparently wasn't the usual long line so we think maybe something was going on. We were really bummed because we had no idea where else to go, our plans were kinda banking on that one club. We trudged back to the car and saw some boys and asked them where another one was, they told us to go to Bypass and we headed off on another adventure. We really weren't positive where it was so we asked this guy on a moped at the gas station if he knew. He tells us to follow him and let's just say he's not a good leader. I think I cut off like twelve people just to follow him. But he gets us there and we parked in the wrong place and the police came and made us move. There was a parking garage attached to the dance club so we parked there and walked to the door where we find out it is 20 swiss francs and Christine decides she really doesn't want to go in. So she takes the tram back to her house. The three of us were really reluctant to let her go by herself but she assured us she's be fine and made us go in. We went in and it was CRAWLING with attractive, young, single, EUROPEAN guys!!! I'm sure Alisha probably had to close my mouth for me. It was crazy! So we danced our little hearts out, met three really nice, attractive (almost thought they were gay) guys who we hung out with til the club closed at 5 a.m. William, Fredrico and Hugo. OH and everyone here is a lot "friendlier". They put their hand on your back as they pass (in the club), not a creepy way, just being polite and letting you know they are passing I guess. But it was a little strange at first when I realized it wasn't Alisha's hand on my back. OH MY GOSH! This one guy walks past, and remember this place is PACKED, so he's really close, looks at me for about five seconds and then tries to BITE ME!! I was so caught off guard because I had no idea what on earth he was doing! So I just back into the crowd as quickly as I could. When we left the club we told the guys we'd get our car and then come meet them at theirs... well when we came out the parking garage the only thing we could do was get on this highway that we had absolutely no idea where it went. So needless to say we didn't meet them to say bye, couldn't call them so they probably think we're really mean. I felt so incredibly bad that we basically ditched them and bummed because they were HOT! But we finally got to the right road and got home around 5:30 a.m. We weren't lost for as long as I thought we'd be. Basically last night is a night that goes down in my history book!!!! And after going to sleep at 6 a.m. you'd think I'd be sleeping for at least another two hours to get seven hours of sleep but I woke up at ten and couldn't go back to sleep. So we'll see. Afternoon nap sounds good! And then maybe another night out haha doubt that. I don't think my feet could take it. I wore heals and we walked around and then danced for at least three hours. At the moment I can't feel the tip of my second toe on my right foot, hope that's not a problem...

HANNAH!!

I know I forgot to update last night. I ended up staying up late watching Prison Break since today was the start of my weekend. So yesterday I had my beloved French class. I think our teacher says on average about 5 words in english the whole two hours. It's nice though, even when I get so sick of hearing french, she makes it a bit easier. That and I have people helping me along the way =D!! After french I picked up Ariadne, but Ines stayed and ate lunch with her friend. We had a quiet lunch which was sooo nice! I took a short nap before walking her back down to school. I stopped and talked to Alisha through her window. We were going to start painting her studio but the guys were still there putting in windows. I came home and relaxed until Sophie came home and we went to get the kids. It started out as a really foggy day but by the afternoon it had cleared immensely and turned out to be a beautiful day. When we reached the house we did her english homework and then had dinner when Sophie, Ines and Aurore came home. After dinner I just stayed home instead of going to walk around because Alisha was still babysitting.

Today I slept in pretty late. It's so nice have heavy shutters that keep the light and some of the noise out. I had closed those last night with the anticipation of sleeping in. I do like seeing the lights of Geneva at night but I could give it up for one night haha. I took a really long shower to relax my tight neck. I got dressed and let my hair dry while I watched more Prison Break. I got ready and went to Val-Thoiry (the mall here) and bought a nice necklace for a decent price for tonight. I came home and read for a while until everyone came home and I did some english homework with each girl until dinner. It was really cute when they got home because Aurore, the youngest, came into my room looking for me and when she say me she screams, "HANNAH". So I chased her around and tickled her and threw her around while she just squealed with delight! I got ready, except for getting dressed, for tonight. Lauren, Alisha and I are going to Geneva to go dancing. It'll be a lot better this time because we're going with more people and they actually know the good places to go! So I'm pretty excited. I guess this dance club is pretty strict and only let the "right" people in haha so we'll see how that goes. Anyway hope everyone has a nice rest of their days, since it is still daylight there! Bon week-end!

Forgot

Oh yeah the reason I titled that last one as "Spider On My Ceiling" was because I was having trouble thinking of an interesting title and I put my head back and saw the spider. So that's that. And now since I didn't get it then, I have no idea where it is. Eeeeek!

Spider On My Ceiling

Oh the dreaded Wednesdays! Actually today wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. Oh yeah I don't have automatic spell check on this computer so somethings may be pretty messy and my "Y" key ykinda sticks. Anyways, I woke up this morning to a jackhammer. LITERALLY!! I was sleeping peacefully and had about 45 more minutes until my alarm went off but NO they had to come extra early with their jackhammer to fix the patio! So anyways I got up, ate breakfast, got the youngest dressed (she's really starting to warm up to me). I took her in the stroller and we walked Ines down into the village for her music class and waited there for Ariadne. We waited for an hour so that Sophie could have a little meeting here at the house and we could walk Ines home after her class. We ate some lunch and then the oldest girls went to their classes and I put Aurore to bed. Surprisingly she slept through the jackhammer that was going ALL day. I took a little nap after reading my book. Sophie went to the cell phone shop to see how much it would be to get me a cell phone and I'm still waiting to hear the verdict. Ines and I worked on her English homework and I picked up Ariadne from her music class and we ate dinner. I read them one and a half books (a half because it was boring and they were whining too much for me to read another one). I'm making sure they know that when they whine they don't get their way. When their mom is home is much harder because she's nicer to them haha. I thought about going out again tonight but figured might as well stay home, get rested for tomorrow and go out this weekend. Highlights of the day:
  • Aurore, after she goes "pee pee" will always leave here bottoms (including panties) in the bathroom and run around. So cute.
  • She will walk around chanting, "bum dela bum dela bum," but when you sing it she always corrects you and says, "NO, bum dela bum dela bum." It's fun. She's a hoot when she's being nice.
  • I got some good reading in today.
    • Well that's about it, not a very exciting day, but tomorrow promises for more excitement I'm sure. Bon soir mes amies!

      Charlie's and Peek-A-Boo

Today was my first day with just the two oldest girls at lunch. I picked them up and we came home for lunch. I made tomato slices with motzarella cheese splashed with balsamic and olive oil, vegetables and hamburger. It was so good! Anyways I'm still setting the boundaries with these kids and I'm making sure they know they can't get away with a lot of the things their parents let them get away with. So it was a bit rough but we did ok. I took them back to school and then went to Alisha's. We were going to start painting her studio today but the guys were putting in the windows and we didn't want to be in their way so I came home and took a nap. After my nap I picked up Aurore and a little boy named Philip. Neither of them speak English so it was a bit interesting but when we got home we just got on the swings and things went fine. I think Aurore is really starting to warm up to me. We have workers here doing work on the patio and what not so I think she kinda clung to me because I was her only familiar person. She and I played on my bed and I'd hide her under the blankets and then yell, "Peek-a-boo" and she would just giggle. She has such a sweet laugh. The older girls came home and we took Ariadne to track, while she was gone the youngest two and I watch Jack Johnson music videos on youtube.com because one has an animated monkey on it. I cooked dinner while Sophie was at parent teacher conferences.

After dinner one of the other au pairs from my French class, Lauren, had invited me and Alisha to go out with her. So she picked us up and we went to Charlie's Pub. It was a really clean place with a pleasant atmosphere thankfully. Of course I just got coke, so don't worry mom. There were some cute guys there but it was nice to just talk with the girls and exchange stories. Lauren is from Australia so I just liked listening to her talk =D. Oh my gosh I saw the most beautiful Dodge Charger in my life!!! It was black (my favorite color for a car) and tinted windows. I really want to find out who drives it! I think I'll marry him, thank you! Oh and I saw the moon for the second time tonight since I've been here!! The first being Sunday night or something. So tonight was a well deserved night out! Things are so much better now that I'm meeting more people my age, I love it!! Well I better hit the hay! Night, bon soir!
